Velma Martinez is an accomplished Controller with an extensive skill set across multiple industries. Her background features a wide range of skills: comprehensive taxation, non-profit grants and funding, audit-ready financial reporting, financial documentation for mergers and acquisitions, and management of accounting departments. She brings to Ludwig a wonderfully warm personality and the highest level of integrity.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Velma earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras—one in Accounting, one in Natural Sciences. She has also earned a postgraduate certification in Medical Technology from the University of Puerto Rico, and an MBA (Finance) from the Fox School of Medicine Business at Temple University. She is a licensed CPA in both Pennsylvania and Puerto Rico, with certifications in the Bloomberg Market Concepts, FactSet Knowledge Base, and HBS Spreadsheet Modeling. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she has demonstrated her proven excellence.

Ludwig was fortunate to bring such a well-versed professional on board in June 2021. Among other noted accomplishments, Velma was recently responsible for the accounting and related financial activities for a national company, providing accounting oversight for three companies with clients across 36 states. Her current focus includes managing the accounting for a major educational non-profit and for two industrial clients.
